My Testimonial
The Sigma Chi Graduate Medical Education Scholarship provided me an offset to the substantial financial burden of medical school and has decreased the amount of debt that I have to take on in order to pursue my dream of becoming a physician. This is incredibly beneficial as every dollar saved now is worth more in the future as student loans accrue interest. There are enough things to stress about in medical school and having financial support from my fraternity reduces the overall stress I experience and allows me to focus on becoming the best physician I can be. I am extremely appreciative of the generosity of the donors to this scholarship program and inspired by the example they set in supporting the generations that come after them. I plan to one day mirror the generosity given to me by paying it forward to the next generation of Sigma Chis. Sigma Chi has provided me with the values needed to become a competent and caring physician and has blessed me with the most important social support network I have in my life. I stay in contact with my brothers from my chapter and have even met brothers from other chapters in my medical school. Keeping in mind the central tenets of Friendship, Justice, and Learning allows myself and other Sigma Chi future physicians to approach medicine with our best foot forward and provide the best patient care possible.
