My Testimonial
I wish to begin by again thanking the generous donors who made this scholarship possible. Sigma Chi and the alumni that support it have demonstrated excellent care and concern for me ever since I joined as an undergraduate. The alumni I know personally have taken the time to get to know me and support me locally as I continue in my doctoral program after graduating from the Delta Zeta chapter in 2018. I have continually felt those strong arms around me during difficult times and in many different ways including. Some of those ways include having received encouragement to excel in my graduate program, the opportunity to work with my local chapter on the alumni board, financial support, and healthy relationships with local brothers. I have put in the work to excel in my graduate program of clinical psychology and to demonstrate to others that the values extolled by Sigma Chi are both relevant and admirable amidst the difficult times we are currently experiencing in our nation. I am quietly proud to be a Sigma Chi and very grateful for all the support that I have received over the years. After the service I experienced difficulties with mental health that pushed me to the limits of my existence, now I am entering the back half of a doctorate program fixated on helping others with mental health struggles. As I enter the 3rd year of my 5 year program I can confidently say that I would not be where I am if it were not for Sigma Chi and Delta Zeta chapter. My daughter turned 1 year old yesterday and my wife is finishing her last year of Physical Therapy school and we really need this money for child care. Thank you very much!
