My Testimonial
I am very fortunate to have the privilege and honor of receiving the Founder Franklin Howard Scobey Academic Scholarship in honor of John and Nancy Peterson in the amount of $10,000 provided by the Sigma Chi Foundation and funded by the generous supporters of alumni brothers and friends. This scholarship will assist me in paying off the rest of my senior year of university. Instead of working hourly to pay off tuition, it will be spent on studying and strengthening my chapter. Since I am a biology major with a minor in chemistry, the time this major requires is overwhelming as I am taking, Ecology, Physics I, Biochemistry, FSL, Applied Voice, and Choir. I continue to strive for the Sigma Chi values of courage, wisdom, integrity, high ambition, self-control, courtesy and fidelity every day. These values are my daily goal that enable me to overcome the adversities of school, Sigma Chi and life. These values make me a better man for my family, significant others, friends and brothers. This bond is reciprocal, and I find those seven values within my brothers to assist me when I lack them. My family, Nu chapter, Cumberland University, brothers, pledges and I thank you, John and Nancy Peterson for this scholarship which will enable me to continue to strive for the ideals of the white cross.
