My Testimonial

Throughout my entire life, I have always strived to do things for myself. There are few instances where I have had things given to me without working and the feeling you get when this happens compares nothing to the sense of achievement from doing something on your own. This scholarship may seem like a handout of sorts to some, but in my book, it couldn't be any further from the truth. I spent my entire leadership learning about the seven standards that now make me and many others proud to be a Sigma Chi. I applied for and accepted this scholarship because my parents have given me so much during my time on earth and supported me every step of the way, and paying for school just adds on. I found a chance to help lighten that burden thanks to our many generous alumni, and I plan to do the same in my future. These standards that I have learned to live by helping me realize that I am a part of something much larger than ever expected and that when the time is right, it will be my duty to give back to the fraternity that I am and will always be a part of.
