My Testimonial
I would like to convey a very heartfelt thank you for selecting me as the recipient of this year’s Founder Franklin Howard Scobey Academic Scholarship, in honor of John and Nancy Peterson, provided by the Sigma Chi Foundation. I would also like to thank all the brothers, friends, and donors for their generous support. I am very humbled and honored to represent not only Clarkson University and the Iota Zeta Chapter, but Sigma Chi Fraternity as a whole.
This scholarship will allow me the opportunity to continue my education in a less stressful manner, softening the financial burden on me and my family. Additionally, it will serve as motivation to continue to excel in and out of the classroom. Since being initiated last fall, Sigma Chi has taught me so much about myself and brought me so far out of my comfort zone. With the lessons I have learned here at Clarkson and specifically in Sigma Chi, along with the life-long relationships I have made with brothers and alumni, I believe my best days are entirely ahead of me. I also feel that as a member of these two communities, it has only enhanced my ability and opportunity to continue to strive for, and exercise the core values of Sigma Chi. My hope is to one day be able to pay this act of kindness forward. Once again, I am beyond grateful to receive this award and always proud to be a Sigma Chi.
