My Testimonial
I want to give my deepest gratitude to the donors of Sigma Chi for this scholarship. From my first few days at UCLA when I accepted my bid, the support and guidance from my chapter and my brothers have made me the man I am today. I am currently working on a research project entitled, "Impact of Interest Rate Spikes on Different Sectors of the Economy" and this scholarship fortifies my resources available for this task. From a pure math standpoint, $1000 to my tuition means 62.5 hours I can dedicate to the project as opposed to working for $16 an hour at my job. Additionally, as an out of state student, any help towards tuition goes a long way. I try to guide my studying through Courage and High Ambition, pushing myself into upper division math courses and honors research all while working and trying my best to be a college student. I strive to be in self-control, using discipline to keep my life in line and my goals always just at arms-length. I am so blessed to have such a good core of brothers at school that understand and respect me for who I am, and I am grateful that even beyond that, I have a network of Sigma Chi behind me pushing me forward and taking me in with open arms.
