Undergraduate Scholarships

General Undergraduate Scholarship

This scholarship provides a minimium $1,000* academic scholarship to a qualified Sigma Chi pursuing an undergraduate degreee in any academic field. A completed undergraduate application is automatically considered for applicable Founders', Bell Chapter, and donor-scholar awards. Qualified applicants selected as recipients may only receive one Foundation scholarship per academic year.

Chapter Sweetheart Scholarship

This scholarship is provided through the generous support of 21st International Sweetheart Dr. Jacqueline Dupont Carlson. Provides a minimum $1,000* academic scholarship to a qualified Sweetheart of a Sigma Chi undergraduate chapter. Sigma Chi Sweethearts who have committed to graduate or similar secondary studies commencing fall 2022 may now apply for a Chapter Sweetheart scholarship.

Graduate Scholarships

General Graduate Scholarship

This scholarship award provides a minimum $1,000* academic scholarship to a qualified Sigma Chi pursuing a graduate or doctoral degreee in any academic field.

Denton International Affairs Graduate Scholarship

A gift from Leona Denton, wife of Earl A. Denton, CHICAGO 1929, established the Denton Scholarship Award. Provides a minimum $1,000* academic scholarship to a qualified Sigma Chi pursuing a graduate or doctoral degree in the field of International Affairs with an emphasis in world trade, economics, business, or political science.

Herschede Engineering Graduate Scholarsip

This scholarship award is provided through the generous support of Brother Mark P. Herschede, CINCINNATI 1940. Provides a minimum $1,000* academic scholarship to a qualified Sigma Chi pursuing a graduate or doctoral degree in the field of engineering.

Law Graduate Scholarship

This scholarship award is provided through the generous support of Brother John K. Forst, GEORGE WASHINGTON 1984. Provides a minimum $1,000 academic scholarship to a qualified Sigma Chi enrolled at an American Bar Association - accredited law school within the United States.

Media, Arts, and Communications Graduate Scholarship

This scholarship award is provided through the generous support of Brother William Kirtley ‘Kirt’ Jacobs, KENTUCKY 1994. Provides a minimum $1,000 academic scholarship to a qualified Sigma Chi with initial preference each year given to an applicant pursuing a graduate or doctoral degree in the field of study in the areas of media, arts or communications.

Business Graduate Scholarship

The Joe Martin Graduate Business award is provided through the generous support of Brother Joe W. Martin, HOUSTON 1976, and provides a minimum $1,500* academic scholarship to a qualified Sigma Chi studying for a graduate or doctoral degree in business or another business-related field of study. Applicants must have a 3.0 combined GPA or a 3.0 GPA in their last semesters of study.

Medical Graduate - Two Separate Scholarships

  • The Medical scholarship award is provided through the generous support of Brother Daniel Walsh, SOUTHEAST MISSOURI 1971, in honor of his parents Sidney G. and Juanita E. Walsh, along with the generous support of Sigma Chi Brothers. Provides a minimum $1,000* academic scholarship to a qualified Sigma Chi pursuing a career in medicine with primary consideration given to financial need. Because of the unique criteria for this award, a separate application is required.
     
  • The Ravi D. Goel, M.D. Medical scholarship award is provided through the generous support of Brother Ravi D. Goel, YALE 1993. Provides a minimum $1,000* academic scholarship to a qualified Sigma Chi attending medical school with initial preference each year given to a qualified applicant from the Theta Upsilon chapter. Because the criteria for this award is the same as our other graduate level awards, a separate application is not required, just be sure to select Goel Medical Graduate in the list of available scholarships.

Additional Scholarships

Military Service Scholarship

This scholarship award was established through the generous support of Brothers John G. Berylson, BROWN 1975, Timothy A. Michael, OHIO STATE 1970, and Daniel P. Walsh, SOUTHEAST MISSOURI 1971 and other Sigma Chi brothers. Provides a minimum $1,000* academic scholarship to undergraduate or graduate Sigma Chi brothers who are currently serving or have served on active duty in their country's military—Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, Coast Guard, or National Guard.

Brothers Helping Brothers Scholarship - AVAILABLE YEAR-ROUND

TEMPORARILY UNAVAILABLE - PLEASE CONTACT HEIDI HOLLEY FOR ASSISTANCE - heidi.holley@sigmachi.org or (847) 425-4470. Scholarships are available to undergraduate and graduate brothers whose families have been adversely affected by hardship, such as long-term unemployment, illness, or the effects of a natural disaster. The Brothers Helping Brothers Scholarship Award provides academic scholarships, in varying amounts, to qualified Sigma Chi brothers; the Brothers Helping Brothers application is available year-round.
